Distinction in time
Before explaining to you about the cheapest hours of light, we want to talk to you a little about the electricity market, which is divided as follows:
Voluntary price for small consumers
Also known as PVPC, this is a rate regulated by the Government through reference marketing companies.
The free market
In this system there is greater freedom in prices and in what each marketer establishes in its conditions. For example: promotions and discounts.
In this market, there are rates with time discrimination that have cheaper prices at certain times of the day. And at Compañías-de-luz.com we want to talk to you about them.
Time discrimination
This type of plan is characterized by managing kWh rates at different times of the day. Within this modality you can find prices according to different time slots, as we explain below:
2 periods
It is divided into 2 time slots. The most economical time corresponds to off-peak hours, at night. On the other hand, there are peak hours, which are more expensive, since they include a daytime schedule.
Prices are determined according to the seasons of the year: in summer, from 11:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. are off-peak hours; and from 1:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. are peak hours. In the case of winter, off-peak hours are from 10:00 p.m. to 12:00 p.m. and peak hours are from 12:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
3 periods
It is divided into 3 stripes. Off-peak hours include the early morning hours from 11:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. The flat hours are the nighttime hours that go from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., with relatively low prices. And the peak hours correspond to the morning from 07:00 to 13:00, and are the most expensive.
There is another period contemplated in which the rate is cheaper. It's supervalley hours, from 01:00 to 07:00.
Valley power and peak power
Electrical power is a parameter that tells you the amount of electrical energy you have in your supply. The more you have, the more appliances will work. Likewise, you will notice an increase in your bill. For this reason, it is important that you know the two periods into which the power is divided:
Valley power
Includes Monday to Friday, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, from 00:00 to 08:00 in the morning. In this period the price per kWh is cheaper.
Top power
Opens from Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 00:00. Unlike the valley, in this period the price per kWh is higher.
As you can see, the most convenient is the one that gives you the valley power. However, it is important that you make a prior assessment of the appliances we use. This way you can make an estimate and avoid unexpected blackouts if you go overboard.
