Protect your home from thieves and squatters this summer
Category: Hogar

Summer is here. And you may be planning to escape for a few days on your long-awaited (and, surely, well-deserved) vacation. But you may be worried about leaving your house unoccupied during that period of time, due to a possible "appearance" of criminals (thieves, squatters...). Therefore, we believe that this post can be a good excuse to give you some recommendations that, although they do not guarantee your entry 100%, do help prevent it. Here we go:
- Be careful when communicating on social networks that you are going to be away for a while. This point probably seems obvious to you, but there are people who do not take it into account. Don't tell the four winds that your house is empty.
- Ask your family members or trusted neighbors to come by for a few days. Above all to give an image of cared for plants, a mailbox without accumulated letters... That is, it seems that there is someone taking care of the home.
- Trust in home automation. Continuing with the previous point, with the idea of conveying that there are people inside, program raising and lowering of blinds, some lights, etc.
- Store all your most valuable items inside a safe.
- Avoid, as much as possible, having “for rent” or “for sale” signs while you are not going to be there.
- Of course, one of the most important aspects is to install all possible security measures: security doors, locked windows, monitored camera system... A visible alarm system is a very effective deterrent measure.
We hope to have helped you with these anti-thief and anti-squatter measures. Now we just have to wish you a very happy holiday!
