Mandatory registration for real estate agents in the Valencian Community
Category: General

The Department of Housing has launched a mandatory registration to be able to work as a real estate agent in the Valencian Community. Its purpose is to end intrusion, and offer security to consumers, both owners and tenants.
Professionals will still have a few months to comply with the requirements of the new regulations and be able to register.
Requirements
One of the first requirements is the obligation for real estate agents to have an establishment open to the public, unless services are provided exclusively remotely by electronic or telematic means. In those cases, they will have to have a physical address in the territory of the CV, or in a state of the European Union.
As for professional training, it is required that they have an Official Real Estate Agent title issued by the competent Ministry. Another way is to have a university degree belonging to the branch of Social and Legal Sciences, Engineering or Architecture; or have a non-university training of at least 200 teaching hours in real estate matters.
Registration
As for the registry, it will contain the personal data of the agents and will be assigned to the Department of Housing.
The registration procedure will begin at the request of the interested person, who may submit it individually or collectively. In the first case, the person, through a responsible declaration, will include their identification data and will undertake to carry out their activity "in accordance with the principles of action and codes of conduct on professional and behavioral ethics, professional secrecy, commercial communications and transparency in remuneration." If you do this collectively, it will be carried out through a college or regulated professional association.
Once the application has been submitted, the real estate agent will be immediately registered in the registry and the supporting document will be delivered. The competent General Directorate will subsequently carry out the verifications they deem appropriate.
Registration will have an indefinite duration and will allow proof that the professional meets the requirements to carry out the activity.
However, the rule provides that the registration may be canceled ex officio due to the death of the person; cessation of activity; dissolution or tax deregistration in case of being a legal entity; non-compliance or sanction.
